Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, received a warm welcome at Rome’s airport where he was greeted by Italy’s Minister of Defense, Guido Crozetto, and the representative of Pope Francis, Francesco Canalini. A formation of the Honor Guard stood ready at the aircraft ramp to mark the occasion.
Scheduled for January 18, Tokayev is set to engage in discussions with Italian President Sergio Mattarello and Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni.
Simultaneously, on the same day, the Head of State will actively participate in the “Kazakhstan – Italy” investment roundtable, engaging in discussions with leaders of major Italian companies.
Moving forward to January 19, an audience between the Kazakh leader and Pope Francis is scheduled to take place in the Vatican, further solidifying diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Italy.
