President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev Met with Alexander Kwasniewski to Discuss Drug Policy

On June 19, 2024, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Alexander Kwasniewski, Chairman of the Commission on Drug Policy of Eastern and Central Europe and Central Asia.

During the meeting, they discussed cooperation with the Information Exchange Commission and the promotion of best practices and experiences in combating drug addiction and trafficking.

“Your mission is very serious. We find it extremely beneficial for developing our efforts against drug addiction. We pay great attention to this issue. Recently, at the National Kurultai meeting, I emphasized the need to tighten our laws against those involved in the production and illegal sale of narcotics. You are continuing an important mission for humanity as the head of the Drug Policy Commission for Eastern and Central Europe and Central Asia. Kazakhstan is ready to actively cooperate with the Commission,” said President Tokayev.

Alexander Kwasniewski talked about new programs and measures to enhance the effectiveness of anti-drug policies.

Both parties agreed to continue their joint efforts to prevent drug addiction and combat illegal drug distribution.
