President Honors Chinese Ambassador Zhang Xiao with Order of Dostyk
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently met with Zhang Xiao, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Kazakhstan. During the meeting, Tokayev awarded Ambassador Zhang the Order of Dostyk, 2nd degree, recognizing his significant contributions to the development of bilateral relations.
In their conversation, President Tokayev emphasized the long-standing and strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness between Kazakhstan and China. He noted that the two nations continue to enhance cooperation built on mutual trust and respect.
The President described the current state of Kazakh-Chinese relations as dynamic and multifaceted, with active political dialogue, growing trade and economic connections, and increasing cultural exchanges. Additionally, Tokayev highlighted the expansion of educational programs and scientific projects, as well as close security cooperation, particularly in combating the “three forces of evil.” He also pointed out the countries’ collaboration on the international stage within the frameworks of the UN, SCO, CICA, and the “Central Asia – China” format.
Tokayev stated that the relationship between Kazakhstan and China serves as an exemplary model.
Ambassador Zhang Xiao expressed his gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed China’s commitment to the continued progress of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. He also thanked the Kazakh President for acknowledging his personal contributions to strengthening the bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
In recognition of his efforts, President Tokayev honored Zhang Xiao with the Order of Dostyk, II degree.
