President Embarks on State Visit to Hungary

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Hungary for a state visit, marking the second leg of his European tour following a visit to Serbia.

The President was warmly received at Budapest Airport by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, according to Akorda’s press service.

The two-day visit is packed with diplomatic engagements. President Tokayev is scheduled to hold high-level talks with Hungarian President Katalin Novák and Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Economic collaboration will dominate the agenda, with discussions expected to focus on enhancing bilateral trade and investment ties. Tokayev is also set to meet prominent Hungarian business leaders to explore avenues for deeper economic cooperation.

In Budapest, the historic Széchenyi Chain Bridge has been adorned with Kazakhstan’s national flag in honor of the President’s visit, reflecting Hungary’s warm reception and symbolic gestures of friendship.

Experts anticipate that the discussions will prioritize sectors like energy, agriculture, and technology, areas where both nations see significant potential for growth. This visit underscores Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Hungary as part of its broader efforts to enhance partnerships within the European region.
