Power transmission lines in Tashkent region and Syrdarya will be built by Turkish and Chinese companies
The Turkish company ŞA-RA ENERJİ and the Chinese Xian Electric Engineering won tenders from the Ministry of Energy for the construction of high-voltage power transmission networks with a length of 213 km and 72 km, respectively, in the Tashkent and Syrdarya regions.
The winners of international tenders held by the National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan for the construction of high-voltage power transmission networks in the Tashkent and Syrdarya regions have been completed and determined, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
The Turkish company ŞA-RA ENERJĪ Īnşaat, Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. was recognized as the winner of the tender for the construction of a 220 kV transmission line with a length of 213 km with a proposed cost of $31.89 million.
The Chinese company won the tender for the construction of a 500 kV transmission line with a length of 72 km with a proposed cost of $14.68 million.
Contracts were signed with the winning companies. The project is financed by the World Bank and is planned for implementation in 2022-2024 years.
The implementation of this project will improve the reliability of power supply to the Syrdarya and Tashkent regions, as well as Tashkent, reduce the load on the main electrical networks of the Tashkent part of the energy system and bring their throughput in line with future needs, the Energy Ministry said.
