Police Officer in Uzbekistan Dies from Stab Wound

A police officer in Uzbekistan has died from a stab wound despite receiving medical assistance.

The incident occurred on August 26 at around 8:45 p.m. in the Dangara district of Fergana region. Senior Inspector N.M., while on duty, was attempting to verify the compliance of a court-ordered sentence for a citizen under house arrest. The individual, identified as H.E., had been sentenced to restricted freedom, prohibited from leaving his residence between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. However, the officer discovered that H.E. was not at home, leading to further investigation.

Meanwhile, a man named E.P., who had returned home intoxicated, started a conflict. During the altercation, he unexpectedly stabbed Inspector N.M. in the chest with a kitchen knife. E.P. fled the scene after the attack.

The injured officer was rushed to the hospital, but despite the doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities quickly apprehended E.P., and he has been charged with murder under Article 97, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, facing a sentence of imprisonment.
