Penalties will be imposed on those who employ teachers outside of their duties in Uzbekistan
Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the branch of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, informed that a draft law on administrative and criminal prosecution of those who assign work outside of their duties to teachers has been developed and is expected to be adopted soon.
Mirziyoyeva noted that it is wrong to employ teachers in different positions apart from their duties, “Those who employ teachers outside of their duties will be subject to heavy penalties.” she said.
Recalling that teachers are currently assigned to the events organized by the municipalities, they are called to fill the halls in boring events, they are used in collecting statistical information in the neighborhoods and for other tasks outside of their duties, and questioned how teachers can train students in such a situation.
Referring to the importance of education in the development of the country, Mirziyoyeva said, “As our President said, the solution to all problems lies in education beauce the pillars of education are teachers. We must build a society where the value teachers is high. Teachers should think freely, work in their own business and protect them.” she spoke.
In Uzbekistan, the fact that school and high school teachers are sometimes employed by municipalities and other state institutions in jobs other than their duties is also frequently on the agenda of the public.
