Pegasus Airlines Bans Power Bank Use During Flights

Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines has introduced a new rule: using power banks on board is now strictly prohibited.

According to the airline’s official announcement, passengers are allowed to carry power banks in their hand luggage, but charging devices or using power banks during the flight is banned.

The airline cites flight safety concerns, noting that lithium-ion batteries can pose fire risks if damaged or misused. Passengers violating the rule may receive a warning from the crew and could face further measures, including being blacklisted.

Aviation safety experts point out that similar restrictions exist across several international airlines due to an increase in overheating incidents involving portable electronics in aircraft cabins.
