According to the Central Bank of Turkmenistan (CBT), this represents a 4.7 percent increase compared to the beginning of January 2024, when 5.562 million cards were recorded.
The CBT also noted that the number of cards rose by 0.67 percent, or 38,633 cards, month-on-month, with 5.785 million cards issued last month.
Additionally, it’s important to mention that in January 2023, Turkmenistan issued 5.177 million cards, marking an 8.5 percent increase, or 406,045 cards, compared to January 2022, when 4.771 million cards were registered.
