Over 448,000 foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan this summer

Over 448,000 foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan over the three summer months of June, July, and August, according to the eQonaq information system, Turanews.kz reports.

Of the total number of foreign tourists, 64.6% were men and the majority were aged 30 to 44 years old.

The city of Almaty was the most popular destination, with over 139,000 foreign tourists visiting the southern capital. Astana was the second most popular destination, with over 68,000 foreign tourists staying in the capital. Almaty region was the third most popular destination, with about 34,000 foreigners visiting.

Other popular destinations included the Mangistau region (over 28,000 foreign tourists) and the Atyrau region (over 25,000 foreign tourists).

“About 21,000 foreign tourists arrived in the Akmola region, more than 14,000 in the Zhambyl, Aktobe, Karaganda, and North Kazakhstan regions. In general, the number of foreign guests arriving in Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year has increased by 1.8 times. It is expected that by the end of 2023, the country will be visited by 1.4 million tourists from other countries,” Official representative of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Moldir Abdualieva said.
