Over 120 Athletes from Uzbekistan to Compete in Nomad Games

Uzbekistan is gearing up to send over 120 athletes to the upcoming World Nomad Games, which will take place in Astana this September. The National Association of Ethnosports in Uzbekistan has expressed confidence that the event will be organized at the highest level.

The World Nomad Games, featuring 21 sports including wrestling, kokpar, and tug-of-war, will see strong participation from Uzbekistan, where these sports are particularly popular. In preparation for the Games, Uzbekistan recently hosted a large-scale ethnosports festival in the city of Shakhrisabz.

Orkhan Kapadze, Secretary General of the Ethnosport Association of Uzbekistan, mentioned that the country will compete in 14 sports, with some, like tenge alu and horseback wrestling, being new additions for the Uzbek team. The number of athletes representing Uzbekistan is expected to range from 122 to 125.
