Over 1.6 million Russian citizens arrived in Kazakhstan since the beginning of 2022
Acting Chairman of the Migration Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aslan Atalykov, “Since the beginning of this year, 4 million and 399 thousand foreigners entered to lands of Kazakhstan.” said in his press conference.
“Generally, this year is a special year for the field of migration. Around world, including in Kazakhstan, the migration processes have been suspended for more than two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. The processes for emigration and immigration have started in Kazakhstan from April 11, 2022 and today, Kazakhstan eased the quarantine restrictions and opened the possibility of crossing the state border through land checkpoints,” he said during a briefing at the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“The volume of the migration has started to increase”
“As a result, totally 4 million 399 thousand foreigners came to our country since the beginning of the year. Among them: 1 million 700 thousand people from Russia, 1.5 million people from Uzbekistan, 547 thousand people from Kyrgyzstan, more than 200 thousand people from Tajikistan. During this time, 4 million 155 thousand foreigners left Kazakhstan. Among them: – 1 million 666 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation; 1 million and 370 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan, 540 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan, 196 thousand citizens of Tajikistan,” said Aslan Atalikov.
