One miner killed, three rescued in Türkiye mine collapse
A mine collapse in Zonguldak province in northern Türkiye killed one miner and injured three others, the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources said on Wednesday, Turanews.kz reports.
The incident took place at the Taşkömürü Kurumu (TTK) Armutçuk Müessessi company in the Ereğli district. Emergency services and paramedics arrived at the scene and rescued three miners who were trapped under the rubble. One miner was pronounced dead at the scene.
The governor of the region, Osman Hadzhibektashoglu, said that 280 people were working at the mine at the time of the collapse. He said that the collapse occurred in an area where four people were working and that there was no risk of further collapse.
The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
