
Conducted in June 2025 with over 14,200 respondents, the survey examined cash usage, payment methods, and public access to banking services.
Findings show that 15% of respondents primarily use cash for daily purchases, 33% prefer bank cards, and 52% use both. Among those who use cash, 56% cited frequent shopping at local markets, while 13% said cash payments offer lower prices.
Regions with the highest demand for cash payments include Andijan, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Syrdarya, and Tashkent province. In Tashkent city, technical issues with payment terminals are common.
When it comes to income, 87% of respondents receive salaries via bank cards, 7% use both cards and cash, and 6% receive cash only. Meanwhile, 20% reported ATM issues such as running out of cash, breakdowns, or lack of appropriate denominations.
In terms of savings, 23% keep cash, 23% use bank cards, and 20% deposit into savings accounts. However, 34% admitted to having no savings at all.
