Olzhas Bektenov and Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok Discuss Economic Cooperation

Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held talks with Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, who is paying his first official visit to Kazakhstan. The discussions focused on the implementation of agreements reached during high-level negotiations.

Special attention was given to strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as collaboration in transit and transport, agriculture, artificial intelligence, and digitalization.

The sides highlighted the significant potential for expanding mutual trade. Kazakhstan expressed readiness to increase exports to Hungary across 95 product categories. The planned Kazakhstan–Hungary Investment Fund is expected to become a key tool for launching new joint projects.

One of the main areas of cooperation will be transport and logistics. The parties discussed prospects for building an intermodal cargo terminal near Budapest, which would help expand Kazakh exports to the European Union.

Artificial intelligence was identified as a strategic priority, with both sides underlining the importance of technological cooperation.

Following the talks, Prime Minister Bektenov stressed that the Government of Kazakhstan will closely monitor the effective implementation of all agreements reached at the highest level. President Tamás Sulyok, in turn, praised Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate and confirmed Hungary’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
