Office for China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Construction Opens in Bishkek

The China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway Construction Company has officially opened its office in Bishkek, as reported by the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan.

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov, speaking at the event, described the railway project as “the construction of the century,” highlighting its importance in enhancing economic cooperation between China and Central Asia.

Japarov emphasized that while significant progress has been made, much work remains ahead. However, he expressed confidence that, with the expertise of partners from China and Uzbekistan, the project will be completed on time and to a high standard.

Representatives from Uzbekistan, including Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov and Chairman of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari Zufar Narzullaev, also attended the opening ceremony.

In July, the President of Uzbekistan instructed that $255 million be allocated to the project’s authorized capital, with $14 million set to be provided by the end of the year. This funding will support the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
