According to the press service of the police department, over the past three months, officers from the Criminal Police Department in the North Kazakhstan region have identified and apprehended 24 criminals wanted by their colleagues in CIS countries. This includes 21 offenders for the Russian Federation, one for the Republic of Armenia, and two for the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Among those detained were two individuals from the Omsk and Kurgan regions, wanted for illegal drug trafficking, and two others sought for illegal border crossing. Another suspect was wanted by Tyumen authorities for making threats to kill or cause serious bodily harm. All these individuals were captured by North Kazakhstan police and transferred to their Russian counterparts.
“As part of our cooperation with law enforcement agencies in the CIS countries, we aim to enhance the effectiveness of our fight against crime, solve more cases, and locate criminal offenders and missing persons,” stated Askar Mukhametkaliyev, Deputy Head of the North Kazakhstan Police Department (DP SKO). “The DP SKO continually exchanges operational, search, and other information of mutual interest with our CIS partners. Additionally, the internal affairs agencies of the CIS have identified one criminal offender for the North Kazakhstan police, who was wanted for a drug-related crime.”
