The Vice Minister of Transport, Talgat Lastaev, talked about the possibility of a new airline coming to Kazakhstan, TuraNews.kz reports.
Lastaev mentioned that they are currently discussing this matter with representatives from foreign airlines.
Negotiations can be unpredictable, but Lastaev is certain that there is definite interest from international players in the Kazakh air transportation market. When asked about the country the new airline might be from, Lastaev mentioned “Southeast Asia.”
He expressed hope that this would happen quickly but acknowledged that it depends on various factors. The idea of a new airline coming to Kazakhstan first came up in June 2023, with reports suggesting it would operate domestic flights within the country.
