Mudflow Strikes Kyrgyzstan’s Jalal-Abad Region Again

A mudflow has once more hit the village of Arstanbap in the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan yesterday at 6:30 PM following heavy rainfall, according to a report from Kabar. The extent of the damage and any potential casualties are still being assessed.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations has confirmed that the road in the area remains open, and rescue teams have been dispatched to the site to assist with the emergency response. Abdulnasir Zakirov, the regional head of the department, has also traveled to the affected area to oversee the situation.

This incident follows a previous mudflow in the Nookat district of the Osh region, which tragically resulted in the deaths of several Kazakh children. In response to this earlier tragedy, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, extended his condolences to the President of Kyrgyzstan, acknowledging the significant loss of life caused by the natural disaster.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation in Arstanbap, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
