Kukushkin asserted his dominance early on, securing the first set with a decisive score of 6:2. Despite leading 2:0 in the second set, Kukushkin’s opponent was forced to retire from the match due to injury. This victory marks Kukushkin’s 12th overall win and his second consecutive triumph in the Challenger circuit. Just a week prior, Kukushkin claimed the top spot at the tournament in Bahrain.
Following his impressive performance in Spain, Kukushkin’s ranking soared to 140th place in the updated ATP rankings, solidifying his position as a formidable force in the world of professional tennis.
