Media Education and Research Center “Turksoy” Opens in Almaty
A new media space, launched as part of the "Youth of the Turkic World" forum, has opened in Almaty to strengthen connections among Turkic-speaking peoples and expand opportunities for cultural and scientific collaboration.
This forum was held in Almaty for the first time and brought together around 200 young participants from 25 countries, including the USA, Romania, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Bulgaria, Türkiye and Azerbaijan.
“The center aims to unite media professionals of the Turkic world through scientific and practical round tables, conferences, press events, and educational sessions. This initiative aligns with the directive of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to develop youth policy and foster unity among Turkic-speaking nations by promoting friendship and cooperation in cultural and scientific spheres,” stated representatives from UNESCO Journalism and Oryntai Oshanova, Head of the Communication Department.
The opening ceremony was attended by prominent officials, including Serdar Çam, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye; Osman Aşkın Bak, Minister of Youth and Sports of Türkiye; Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU; Sultan Raev, Secretary-General of TURKSOY; and Darkhan Akhmet-Zaki, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.
