Media Delegation Explores Altai Region in Celebration of ‘One Belt, One Road’ Initiative Anniversary

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the collaborative Kazakh-Chinese initiative ‘One Belt, One Road,’ a special press tour has been arranged for media representatives hailing from Central Asian countries, TuraNews.kz reports citing Kazinform.

Approximately 20 journalists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia have convened in the Altai Territory.

The primary focus of the tour is to acquaint foreign journalists with the region’s flourishing tourism sector. The Altai Territory, renowned as the world’s premier skiing destination, has attracted athletes since October. During this press excursion, journalists will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the daily lives of Altai residents and witness the craftsmanship of local wood and iron artisans, as highlighted by the organizers.

The historical significance of this extensive route, spanning thousands of kilometers, dates back centuries. Initially traversed by camel caravans, the route has evolved with the times, now hosting modern Chinese and European freight trains that seamlessly connect the East and the West.
