Martial Law Declared in South Korea: Embassy Issues Advisory for Kazakh Citizens

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has declared a state of martial law following an emergency council meeting, where he revealed an attempt to impeach him.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the president addressed the nation, announcing the military emergency. He accused the opposition of slashing crucial budget allocations necessary for the country’s core functions.

In light of the situation, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in South Korea has issued a statement urging its citizens in the country to remain calm and adhere to local authorities’ recommendations.

“We urge Kazakhstani citizens currently in the Republic of Korea to stay calm, follow local authorities’ advice, and avoid participating in public events,” the embassy said in its official notice.
