Magnitude 5.8 Earthquake Hits Türkiye’s Mediterranean Coast
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the Marmaris district of Türkiye’s Muğla province at 02:17 AM local time. The tremor was felt across multiple provinces including İzmir, Aydın, Denizli, Manisa, and Antalya.

According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the epicenter was located 10.43 km from Marmaris, at a depth of approximately 67.9 km.
Authorities confirmed that 69 people were injured. In a tragic incident, 14-year-old girl died in the Fethiye district, reportedly after panic set in during the tremors.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated via social media that there were no reports of structural damage to residential buildings in the Muğla region.
