Magnitude 5.5 Earthquake Strikes Qinghai Province, China

An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale hit Qinghai province in northwestern China today at 8:39 local time.

The tremor’s epicenter was identified in the city of Mannai, situated within the Haixi-Mongolian-Tibet Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

According to reports, there have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties resulting from the quake.

In a separate seismic event, Kazakh seismologists reported a 4.2 magnitude earthquake at 03:43 local time on April 4th. The quake’s epicenter, as per COMME data, was approximately 414 kilometers southwest of Almaty, located in neighboring Kyrgyzstan. No reports have emerged regarding the extent of the tremor’s impact within Kazakh territory.
