Magnitude 3.0 Earthquake Strikes Caspian Sea
A seismic event of magnitude 3.0 was detected in the Caspian Sea, as reported by Azerbaijani seismologists. The Earthquake Research Bureau of the Seismological Service Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan confirmed the occurrence.
The earthquake, with its epicenter located approximately 220 kilometers east of the Siyazan seismological station, rattled the region. It was recorded at a depth of 28 kilometers beneath the sea.
Meanwhile, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, the city’s administration, led by the Akim (Mayor), announced plans to conduct seismic resistance assessments on approximately 13,200 structures. This proactive measure aims to ensure the safety and resilience of buildings in the event of seismic activity.
