Leaders of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan Discuss Expansion of Cooperation
A telephone conversation between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took place to address the strengthening of bilateral ties.
According to the press service of Uzbekistan’s leader, both parties focused on deepening the friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership between the two nations, alongside expanding their multifaceted cooperation.
The discussion highlighted the dynamic development of Uzbek-Turkmen relations, with particular emphasis on joint projects in the sectors of transport, communications, and energy.
Turkmenistan’s state news agency TDH also reported that the conversation addressed the current state and future prospects of interstate cooperation, especially in trade, economic, and energy spheres. The leaders discussed the importance of maximizing the transport and transit potential of both countries, while also reviewing the implementation of previous agreements and exploring possibilities for future joint projects.
