Latest Census Data Shows Significant Population Increase Across Kyrgyzstan

The National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic has reported that the nation’s population officially reached 7,413,600 as of February 1, 2026.

The data, shared via the Kabar News Agency, highlights a steady upward trajectory in Kyrgyzstan’s demographics compared to January 2025, when the total count stood at approximately 7.28 million.

The current demographic breakdown reveals that women slightly outnumber men, with a female population of 3.74 million against a male population of 3.66 million. Urbanization continues to evolve, with 3.13 million people living in cities, though the majority (4.27 million) still reside in rural areas. Regionally, the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions remain the most populous districts, while the capital city of Bishkek has crossed the 1.36 million mark, reflecting the country’s ongoing social and economic shifts.
