Kyrgyzstan’s population has reached nearly 7 million in 2022

It was reported that the population of Kyrgyzstan increased and approached 7 million, Kazinform reports

According to the National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, as of August 1th 2022, the population of the country was 6 million 977 thousand people. The actual number of permanent residents in the country increased by 1.6 million compared to 2009 year with an average annual growth of 2.1%.

The Ministry announced that the population and housing stock census of the Kyrgyz Republic was carried out in two stages. The first part of the census was completed by processing the data from the National Statistics Committee during the summer term. Currently, the logical debugging process of the received information continues and it is planned to be completed by the end of 2022. In the census, current demographic records (gender, age, regional distribution, etc.) are reviewed with available data.
