Kyrgyzstan to Implement Temporary Coal Price Controls

Kyrgyzstan will introduce temporary state regulation of coal prices starting September 15, according to the Ministry of Economy and Trade.

The regulation, set to last for 90 days, aims to prevent price hikes and ensure coal remains accessible to the public. The Antimonopoly Regulation Service, part of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, will oversee the implementation and enforcement of these controls.

In August, the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers also proposed a six-month ban on coal exports by road to further address coal supply issues.
