Kyrgyzstan to Host CSTO Summit in Bishkek

Kyrgyzstan will host the next session of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) on 27 November in Bishkek, Kazinform reports.

According to the organization’s press service, member states are expected to adopt a Declaration outlining their joint positions on current security challenges. Delegations will also discuss the candidate for CSTO Secretary General for the upcoming three-year term from 2026 to 2029. In addition, Russia is set to present its priorities for chairing the organization in 2026.

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Internal Affairs announced temporary traffic restrictions on several roads in Bishkek and the Chui region due to the summit. To reduce congestion, schools and universities in the capital will switch to online classes for the duration of the event.
