Kyrgyzstan to Build a $3 Billion Railway

Kyrgyzstan is planning to construct a railway along the "Makmal-Karakol" route.

According to the National Investment Agency under the President, a public-private partnership agreement has been signed. The document was concluded between the National Investment Agency, the state-owned enterprise “Kyrgyz Temir Jolu,” and the consortium All American Rail Group Global Infrastructure Partner LLC.

The agency’s director, Talantbek Imanov, emphasized that this is the first railway project of its kind in Kyrgyzstan.

— The total investment volume is approximately $3 billion. This will create new jobs, significantly improve the transportation network, and bring long-term economic benefits to the country, — he stated.

The project is expected to open new horizons for Kyrgyzstan’s transport system, enhance connectivity with neighboring countries, and make the economy more competitive on the international stage.
