In a meeting with higher education system employees, Tashiev made significant statements regarding the government’s efforts to combat corruption.
He mentioned that Kyrgyzstan has adopted the law “On Amendments to Some Legislative Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Field of Anti-Corruption,” which provides the legal framework for these anti-corruption efforts. Tashiev emphasized that the goal is to reduce corruption levels, which currently stand at 30-40%, down from the alarming levels of 70-80% seen in previous years.
In addition, Tashiev shared that over the past four years, the state has recovered more than 168 billion Kyrgyz soms in damages. He also highlighted that 1,174 properties, including land, kindergartens, boarding houses, stadiums, and factories, were returned to state ownership, and criminal responsibility was assigned to 1,373 individuals involved in corruption.
