Kyrgyzstan Launches Competition to Compose Music for New National Anthem

Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy has announced a national competition to compose music for the newly revised version of the country’s national anthem.

According to the ministry, during the fourth meeting of an interdepartmental commission, held between June 16 and July 17, a total of 132 text submissions were reviewed. Five anthem texts have been shortlisted for the next stage.

In this second phase, composers, musicians, and performers are invited to submit musical compositions to accompany one of the five selected texts. Entries will be accepted until September 8, 2025.

Participants are required to send their submissions to: Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, 8 Pushkin Street, Bishkek.

The ministry stated that the commission will select the three best anthem versions (text and music), which will then be submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) for consideration.
