Kyrgyzstan Issues “At Chabysh” Coin for 5th World Nomad Games

Starting August 1, the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan will circulate a new silver collectible coin named "At Chabysh."

This coin, part of the “World Nomad Games” series, commemorates the 5th World Nomad Games, which are scheduled to take place from September 8 to 14, 2024, in Kazakhstan’s capital. The coin is also recognized as official legal tender within Kyrgyzstan, according to the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

“At Chabysh” is a traditional Kyrgyz sport involving long-distance horse racing. The coin’s obverse features two galloping riders set against a stylized horseshoe-shaped hippodrome. It also includes the emblem of the World Nomad Games and the coin’s name, “At Chabysh” (Horse race) along with its denomination of 10 soms.

The reverse side of the coin continues the theme with additional images of galloping horsemen. It prominently displays the coat of arms of the Kyrgyz Republic and includes the inscriptions “Duynoluk kochmöndör oyundary / World Nomad Games” at the top and bottom.

The “At Chabysh” coin is now available as both a collectible item and a recognized means of payment in Kyrgyzstan.
