Kyrgyzstan is introducing a resident card system for foreign nationals, which will serve as the legal basis for their activities in the country. The announcement was made by Seitik Zhumakadyrov uulu, Director of the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a media briefing, according to Kabar agency.
The resident card will include key personal information such as the holder’s identity details, health indicators, salary level, tax contributions, as well as data on the inviting party and employer. In addition, the card will function as a banking card, enabling easier financial transactions.
According to the Ministry, the initiative aims to enhance security for both the state and foreign citizens, while also reducing bureaucratic procedures and saving time.
“It is important for us to know who enters the country and where they work, while at the same time ensuring the safety of foreign nationals themselves,” the official noted.
At the end of the briefing, the first resident cards were issued to employees of foreign companies operating in Kyrgyzstan.
