Kyrgyzstan imposes temporary ban on timber exports outside EAEU

The government of Kyrgyzstan has introduced a six-month ban on the export of wood and timber products beyond the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The restriction applies to goods under EAEU HS codes 4401, 4403, and 4407, according to the official decree.

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce has been tasked with notifying the WTO Secretariat and the Eurasian Economic Commission. The Foreign Ministry must inform the CIS Executive Committee within three days of the decision taking effect.

Customs and border authorities have been instructed to take necessary steps to prevent illegal exports.
