Kyrgyzstan Citizens Advised to Avoid Travel to Russia Amid Tightened Security Measures

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has issued a recommendation for its citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia without a valid reason, following reports of widespread denial of entry for Kyrgyz nationals.

Due to heightened security measures and stricter controls at the Russian border, the Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia advised citizens to avoid non-essential travel until these measures are relaxed.

The warning comes as Russia tightens its migration policies. Recently, a bill was introduced in the Russian State Duma proposing to ban labor migrants from working in medical, pharmaceutical, and educational sectors. Additionally, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin called for legislation to restrict low-skilled migrants from bringing their families into Russia.
