Kyrgyzstan celebrates the National Flag Day

Kyrgyz Republic celebrates the National Flag Day every year on 3th of March. The celebrations take place across all over the country. Flags of Kyrgyz Republic on the strees, the people of the country show their love for the state flag.

The date of March 3th was not chosen randomly, in 1992, on very this day, the state flag was approved by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. The first flag of independent Kyrgyzstan was raised on March 5, 1992 over the building of the Government House in Bishkek.

The national flag of Kyrgyzstan is a red rectangular panel, in the center of which there is an image of a round solar disk with forty golden rays evenly diverging. Inside the solar disk is a red tyundyuk (roof) of a national Kyrgyz yurt.

The dimensions of the flag are also standardized: the width of the flag is three-fifths of its length. The diameter of the radiant disc is three-fifths of the flag’s width. The ratio of the diameters of the solar and radiant disks is three to five. The diameter of the tyundyuk is half the diameter of the radiant disk.
