Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan agree on joint production of cars
Today, 27 January, as a result of negotiations between the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in a narrow and expanded format, an Agreement on cooperation on organizing the production of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan was signed.
The document was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This agreement, according to Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic Nuradil Bayasov, provides for the launch of a large-block assembly of Ravon cars near Bishkek. A joint Kyrgyz-Uzbek enterprise will be opened on the territory of Moskovsky region of Chui Oblast.
Bayasov specified that this activity will be carried out by UzAvtoSanoat and domestic companies DT Technik and NUR.
“The initial memorandum for this project was signed in 2017. Since that year, a number of negotiations have taken place and controversial issues have been resolved. To date, most of the problems have already been eliminated, and the project is at the stage of full implementation,” said Bayasov.
