Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan Advance Border Delimitation and Demarcation Efforts

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are continuing their collaborative efforts on border delimitation and demarcation.

A meeting between the co-chairs of the governmental delegations, Kamchybek Tashiev from Kyrgyzstan and Saimumin Yatimov from Tajikistan, took place in Buston, located in Tajikistan’s Sughd region.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers, specific directives were issued to the working groups from both countries to further define the border line along the remaining sections.

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan share a border of approximately 970 kilometers. In recent months, both parties have been actively negotiating the agreement on the joint state border, alternating meetings on each other’s territory. The Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that over 90% of the border line has been agreed upon by both nations.
