Kyrgyzstan and Palestine have agreed to open embassies in each other’s capitals, the Foreign Ministries of the two countries announced on Tuesday, Turanews.kz reports.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, and Palestine, Riyad al-Maliki, in Bishkek.
Kulubaev said that the Kyrgyz side is prepared to provide necessary assistance to the Palestinian side in the opening of the embassy in Bishkek. He also said that Kyrgyzstan intends to accredit one of its embassies in Palestine.
The two ministers also signed several bilateral agreements, including an agreement on cooperation between the National News Agency of Kyrgyzstan “Kabar” and the Palestinian News & Information Agency “WAFA”; an agreement on cooperation in the field of culture; an agreement on cooperation in the field of agriculture; and an agreement on cooperation in the field of healthcare.
Al-Maliki said that Palestine is interested in developing bilateral relations and maintaining a political dialogue with Kyrgyzstan. He expressed hope that the opening of embassies in each other’s capitals would help to strengthen relations between the two countries.
