Kyrgyz President Japarov Oversees Restoration Efforts at Bishkek Thermal Power Station
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov visited the Bishkek thermal power station to inspect the ongoing restoration work following a recent accident
The incident, which occurred during the night, prompted urgent measures to expedite the recovery of the capital’s thermal power facility.
The president’s press service reported that swift orders have been issued to ensure the rapid restoration of operations at the thermal power station. All relevant services are working tirelessly in an enhanced mode to address the situation.
The accident, which took place on January 2 at 3 a.m., resulted in equipment malfunctions at the Bishkek thermal power plant. Akylbek Zhaparov, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyz Republic, interrupted his working visit to Almaty to return to Bishkek. He is currently leading a meeting of the operational headquarters to coordinate response efforts.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kyrgyz Republic is considering two possible causes for the accident: one involving potential sabotage and the other of a man-made nature. Investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the incident.
