Kyrgyz criminal boss Kamchy Kolbaev killed during arrest
Notorious Kyrgyz criminal boss Kamchy Kolbaev was killed on October 4 during his arrest in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, TuraNews.kz reports citing 24.kg.
According to the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Kolbaev was located in the Blonder Pub restaurant on Ibraimov Street. When SCNS officers attempted to arrest him, he offered armed resistance using firearms.
SCNS special forces returned fire, killing Kolbaev.
A criminal case has been opened under the articles “Creation of an organized criminal group”, “Illegal trafficking in weapons”, and “Attempted murder” of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Kolbaev was a well-known figure in Kyrgyzstan, and his death is likely to have a significant impact on the country’s criminal underworld. He was accused of leading a powerful organized crime group involved in a variety of criminal activities, including extortion, drug trafficking, and murder.
The SCNS has vowed to continue its fight against organized crime in Kyrgyzstan.
