Kazakhstan’s Reservoirs Operating Normally, Supporting Agriculture and Industry

The Ministry of Water Resources in Kazakhstan has reported that the country’s reservoirs are functioning normally and are supplying water to meet the needs of agriculture and industry.

According to the Ministry, four large reservoirs in the West Kazakhstan region are currently 91% full and are operating smoothly. In the Akmola region, two major reservoirs are 97.4% full and functioning as expected. Similarly, in the North Kazakhstan region, two reservoirs are nearly at capacity, at 99.6% full.

In the Aktobe region, the average capacity of two large reservoirs is 88.5%, with both operating normally. The East Kazakhstan region’s two large reservoirs are at 92.6% capacity. The Shulbinskoye reservoir in the Abai region is 91% full.

The Karaganda region has three large reservoirs that are 99% full and functioning without issues. In the Kostanay region, the average filling of two large reservoirs is 88.6%, and both are operating normally.

“Water collected in reservoirs is sent for use in agriculture and industry,” the Ministry stated.
