Kazakhstan’s population is close to reaching 20 million, according to the latest data from the Bureau of National Statistics. As of September 1, 2023, the country’s population was 19,944,726.
The population is growing steadily, with 258,011 children born in the country in the first eight months of this year. The death rate was lower, with 85,989 people dying in the same period.
The majority of the population is rural, with 12,368,662 people living in rural areas and 7,576,064 living in urban areas. Women also outnumber men, with 10,205,957 women and 9,738,769 men.
