Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee Apprehends Two Fugitive Kazakh Citizens in Türkiye

Комитетом национальной безопасности и Министерством внутренних дел во взаимодействии с правоохранительными органами Турции задержаны и 3 апреля 2024 года из г.Стамбул этапированы в г.Алматы двое разыскиваемых граждан Казахстана.

Two Kazakhstani citizens who were wanted by authorities have been successfully detained in Türkiye through a coordinated effort led by Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee (NSC). On April 3, 2024, the individuals were transported from Istanbul to Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city.

Working in collaboration with Turkish law enforcement agencies, the NSC, along with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, executed the operation resulting in the arrest of the wanted individuals. The detainees are suspected of involvement in significant economic smuggling activities related to gold, as well as being implicated in the organization and leadership of a transnational criminal syndicate.

Upon their arrival in Almaty, the individuals were placed under custody in a pre-trial detention center. However, specific details regarding the case, as regulated by Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, remain undisclosed at the time being.
