Kazakhstan’s Kairat Wins Futsal Tournament in Portugal

The current champion of Kazakhstan in futsal, Almaty’s Kairat, has won the international futsal tournament Record International Masters Cup in Portimão, Portugal, Turanews.kz reports citing Sports.kz

Kairat defeated the Portuguese team Braga 1-0 in the final match, with the winning goal scored by Dener Rodrigo in the dying minutes of the game.

The Almaty club had previously defeated two other Portuguese teams in the tournament, Sporting Lisbon and Benfica. They beat Sporting 6-3, with goals from Edson (2), Cayo Ruiz, Dauren Tursagulov, Dener, and Alisson. They then defeated Benfica 5-2, with goals from Cayo Ruiz (2), Dener (2), and Alex Viana.

Kairat’s victory is a major achievement for the Kazakh club, and it is a sign of their growing strength in futsal. The club is now one of the top teams in Asia, and they are well-positioned to compete at the highest level in the world.

The tournament was held in a group stage format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals. Kairat finished top of their group, ahead of Sporting Lisbon and Benfica.
