Kazakhstan’s GDP growth for the first five months reached 4.5%

Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov announced that Kazakhstan’s GDP growth for the first five months of the year stood at 4.5% in a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country, Turanews.kz reports.

Smailov highlighted that the manufacturing industries played a significant role in this growth. Notably, mechanical engineering experienced a growth rate of 32%, with the automotive industry showing a substantial increase of 41%, and the production of locomotives and wagons rising by 6%. The light industry also demonstrated positive growth, with a 31% increase, particularly in textile production (51%) and clothing production (4.8%).

The Prime Minister further emphasized a growth of 19.4% in investments in fixed capital, excluding the mining sector.
