Kazakhstanis Granted Longer Stay in Uzbekistan Without Registration
Kazakhstanis will now enjoy extended stays in Uzbekistan without the need for registration, as part of a new agreement between the two nations. This reciprocal arrangement also grants Uzbek citizens the same privilege.
Under the agreement, citizens from either country can enter, exit, transit, or move freely within the territory of the other state for up to 30 calendar days upon crossing the border. This provision allows for a total of 90 calendar days within each 180-day period without requiring a temporary residence permit or registration. The only documentation necessary is proof of identity and citizenship.
Following the initial 30-day period, both Kazakhstani and Uzbek citizens must obtain a temporary residence permit. Notably, Kazakhstan has implemented a simplified monthly stay procedure for Uzbek citizens without registration since 2020.
Authorities emphasize that this agreement poses no risks and aims solely to bolster bilateral relations, fostering stronger economic and humanitarian ties between the two nations.
